Hi, I'm Jen!

A Bit About Me:

I love sunshine and warm weather, which is why I’ve made Southern California my home for the past 16 years. I originally studied Finance at University of San Diego and pursued a career as a financial planner. Through my own therapy, I discovered my passion for helping others and decided to pursue my Master’s of Marriage and Family Therapy at University of Southern California where I graduated with a 4.0 in 2012 (I’m no stranger to perfectionism!). Since then, I have welcomed 2 daughters into this world.

My Experience:

I have been working in the field of Eating Disorder treatment since 2013 and I have worked at various levels of care, including Partial hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP). Most recently, I worked at Kaiser Permanente as part of the Eating Disorder treatment team affiliated with Panorama City. There I specialized in conducting thorough assessments, individual and family therapy as well as running groups for the IOP program. Prior to Kaiser, I spent time as a therapist at The Eating Disorder Center of California, a Monte Nido and Affiliates Partial Hospitalization Program. I have also completed comprehensive training at Southern California Counseling Center as part of my internship.

My Approach to Therapy:

Most my clients tell me that they appreciate how engaged I am during sessions. I don’t expect you to come in and know what to talk about. Together, we will explore what you’re hoping for and identify what might getting in the way. I integrate several therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy. If this sounds like a foreign language to you, don’t worry about it! Basically, my hope is that your sessions with me feel like a conversation that is guided to help you think in different ways, get in touch with your emotional experience and develop the relationships necessary to thrive.

So go ahead and take that first step! Call or email me to schedule an appointment.

Welcome to my site. Choosing to begin therapy, whether for the first time or you’ve been before, is an important and often difficult decision. The most important factor to successful therapy is a positive relationship between you (or your family) and your therapist. That’s why I’m hoping to tell you a little about myself, my experience and my approach to therapy so that you can get a sense of whether I’m the kind of therapist you are looking for. Of course, I invite you to reach out and we can decide this together!
