Care

If it’s not one thing, it’s another. This is what I often find myself thinking when trying to manage all of life’s demands. It can feel never ending. Sometimes all the pressures can be too overwhelming and leave us feeling there is no time for the things we enjoy. Sometimes we lose track of what it is we do enjoy, what we want and how to take care of ourselves. Over time, we lose balance in our lives and feel burned out. We become obsessed with being a good mother/father, a good worker, a good spouse, maintain a good home, earn more money, etc that we neglect ourselves in the process. If you relate to any of this, I can help you.

Learning to take care better care of ourselves reaps many benefits- not just with ourselves but in our relationships. When we are happy and fulfilled, it translates to being more pleasant and patient with others, more connected and present with those we love most and more able to handle life’s stressors. Finding ways to balance our needs with other’s needs is a necessity to our emotional health.

But as you may know, it isn’t that easy to accomplish. I’ve met with far too many people who have goals to take better care of themselves and yet end up stuck in the same vicious cycle of never having the time. It isn’t as simple as providing you with ideas for hobbies, interests and pleasure then sending you off to complete. Though this might be a part of our work together, we will also need to work together to identify what the challenges are to creating this space for yourself and why balance is difficult to achieve. Often there are underlying emotions, such as guilt or fear that may stand in the way.

If you’re feeling stuck in a rut, never any time for yourself, unsure of what makes you happy or overwhelmed by life demands and responsibilities, I can help.
